ARENA:
In order to learn and develop a partnership with your horse you need a safe environment.

Our 60x20m all weather arena was designed and built by Dave with safety in mind. It is fully fenced and has multiple entrances for ease of access. The surface is eucalyptus chip which provides a beautiful footing that encourages your horse to perform to the best of his ability. The grass bank means you don’t have to worry about riding too close to the fence and having a pipe arena inside is a great way to introduce young horses to a competition environment in a safe, quiet way. With lovely views of the Oreti River and sheltered from the wind the arena is a tranquil place where you can develop a true partnership with your horse.

There are sheltered areas for spectators to sit outside the arena including our newly constructed viewing platform. This is the perfect spot to take photos from or videothe session.

PARKING:
We make parking easy with a wide driveway and a large parking paddock. All our paddocks are free draining sand so you will never get stuck. You don’t have to back up if that is difficult for you. In fact we can help you learn how to back your float if you want!

ROUND PEN:
We purchased a fantastic round pen from Te Pari Products and Dave constructed the base and viewing platform.  At 15.5m diameter it is perfect for groundwork sessions. The sides are covered in rubber matting creating a quiet area for horse and handler to concentrate without outside distractions.
We use the round pen for groundhandling sessions and also for clients who need a smaller space for that first ride. It is perfect for photographing young stock in motion and for teaching lungeing.

JUMPING PADDOCK:
We now have a dedicated jumping paddock set up with brand new jumps made by Nick Morris Engineering. So if you have always wanted to start jumping (or get back into it) but were a little bit worried about starting off, we can help. Jumps can be set really low (35cm) up to 1.40m. There are no slippery, muddy patches as the surface is grass over sand.
